Child Rights International Day – Election of Children Committee

On the occasion of International Children’s Rights Day, Developmental Action without Borders Organziation, Nabaa, organized an election open day to establish a children’s committee in the areas of Tyre and Saida. The role of the children’s committee is to advocate for children’s rights and to address their problems with active members and the duty bearers. The title of the campaign was “Alhak_Elak Mish 3aleek”.  More than 250 individuals participated including Mr. Nazih Yaacoub, representative of UNICEF, Mr. Fawzi Kassab UNRWA area officer, Tyre, Mr. Raef/Rashidieh UNRWA manager, Child protection coordinator in Rashidieh, Mr. Abu Rashid, in addition to a great number of the parents and NGOs. During the open day, there were different artistic performances such as Dabkeh, singing and a speech on behalf of the children. Finally, the day ended by celebrating the announcement of the winners.
