Wider Spaces – Wider Opportunities

10 Jan 2017

Unemployment within families, particularly Palestinian refugees, leads to a feeling of hopelessness among young people.  Because of a lack of financial means, families are not able to afford an adequate education for their children.

This can lead to an increase in crime rates and drug addiction. Another possible implication is the susceptibility of youth to join extremist groups. The main goal of this project is to provide an alternative to a widespread feeling of despair and address unemployment issues amongst young people in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

Wider Spaces – Wider opportunities aims to improve the economic and social participation of young people with and without disabilities by providing education across various professional and economic fields. In particular, it looks to give people with disabilities (PWD) the means to find employment, receive an income and enable them to cover medical costs and rehabilitation services.
