This project aims to provide 400 children aged 4 to 12 years in Rashidieh and Ein El Helwe camps with a friendly environment that ensures their healthy, educational, and psycho-social development. This includes enrolling 50 children in KG1 and KG2, while 350 children aged 6 years are referred to and followed up in their UNRWA schools and basic literacy and numeracy programs. Additionally, to motivate 500 parents and caregivers to engage in their children’s learning and well-being.

Throughout Wider Opportunities project, we

  • Successfully registered 402 students (189 males and 213 females) in Rashidieh and Ein El Helwe Camps, ensuring their psycho-social development, education, and health.
  • Enrolled 299 students (141 males and 158 females) in Naba'a's supporting classes, and 52 students (31 males and 21 females) in the KG class.
  • Enrolled 51 dropped-out-of-school students in the basic literacy and numeracy program.
  • Referred several students to psychologists and conducted frequent home visits to monitor progress.
  • Implemented educational activities covering Arabic, English, Math, and Science, using play learning methodologies and active learning strategies.
  • Provided PSS and educational support for students aged 6 to 12, tracking academic performance through regular visits to UNRWA schools.
  • Organized extracurricular activities, such as drawing, painting, storytelling, and recreational games, to enhance self-esteem, self-confidence, and interaction among schoolmates
  • Coordinated with the Somoud Association for dental care and awareness sessions, providing follow-up treatments for students with tooth decay.
  • Held parent committee meetings every two months to discuss parents' and children’s needs.
  • Conducted screenings and mappings in Ein El Helwe and Rashidieh camps to facilitate referrals based on specific needs.
  • Raised awareness among 453 parents on effective communication, promoting self-esteem, resilience, and the importance of education.
  • Provided capacity building and empowerment for parent committees on child rights, children’s activity planning, educational support programs, and peer-to-peer support.
