Our program aims to foster socio-economic empowerment, conflict transformation, peace-building, and resilience among youth and adolescents. It addresses the multifaceted challenges faced by individuals and communities in the regions, promoting sustainable livelihoods and social empowerment.
Naba'a plays a pivotal role in promoting economic empowerment and sustainable development, especially for vulnerable communities including Lebanese, Syrians, and Palestinian refugees. The focus on youth and adolescents is crucial, as these groups often face heightened challenges in conflict-affected regions.
Moreover, Naba'a's efforts in conflict transformation and peace-building are vital. By promoting understanding and cooperation among diverse groups within Lebanese areas, and among Syrian and Palestinian refugees, these programs help reduce tensions and build a foundation for lasting peace and stability. This not only aids in immediate conflict resolution but also supports long-term community resilience.
The protection and resilience aspect of Naba'a’s programs ensures that youth and adolescents are not just surviving, but thriving in their environments. By providing support and resources to cope with the trauma and instability that often characterize life in refugee camps, Naba'a aids in the psychological and emotional well-being of these communities.
Ultimately, Naba'a’s initiatives are essential for building stronger, more resilient communities where youth and adolescents are not only participants but also leaders in their economic and social landscapes. This holistic approach not only addresses immediate needs but also lays down a pathway for sustainable development and empowerment. Such efforts are crucial for fostering an environment where peace and prosperity can flourish despite the challenging circumstances these communities face.
The worsening socio-economic conditions in Lebanon continue to drive various protection risks and increase negative coping mechanisms, further driving their exposure and susceptibility to shocks and incidents of violence, deliberate deprivation, and coercion, such as drugs and substance abuse, gender-based violence (GBV), child marriage, child labor/child soldiers, self-harm, and internet and social media addiction. Engaging in risky behaviors like theft, vandalism, or involvement in illegal activities also may rise from desperation and lack of opportunities.
Community benefits from the program include increased employment, skill development, and economic resilience. The project combines programmatic approaches aiming to increase the protective environment for children, adolescents, and caregivers by tackling both the immediate risks and harm resulting from child labor while simultaneously creating an environment more conducive to protecting children from harm.
